Pennsylvania Game Fund Benefiting by Gas Leasing

Gas leasing is directly supporting hunting in Pennsylvania, demonstrating US energy development is important not just for our economy but our ability to preserve open spaces used by outdoor sports enthusiasts.

The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners recently approved an agreement that allows for the extraction of oil and natural gas lying beneath the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's state game hunting lands in Butler County in Western Pennsylvania. It was a $920,000 deal for the State Game Fund; money that will go to support wildlife development. Almost simultaneously, another deal was approved in Eastern Pennsylvania for $2,483,145 that will do the same thing. These two transactions are allowing Pennsylvania to increase open space and add hunting opportunities.
